Among locals and visitors, the interest in World War I and its consequences in this part of the world is still high. There are numerous remains, monuments, plaques, museums and other remnants of this global conflict in and around Solkan, along the Soča Valley and on the Karst plateau. These sights offer visitors opportunity after opportunity to reflect on this period of history that left a great mark on the area between the years 1915 and 1917.
